We met Andrea a year or so before VERVE launched and loved her work and her "never stop learning and creating" attitude to art and life. We were delighted when she agreed to showcase her collections exclusively with us.
Not only is she uber talented but the scale and variety of her work means that there is always something new to admire, enjoy and buy.
Following an Art Foundation course, Andrea travelled throughout Europe and Asia, before embarking on a degree in Public Art & Design at Chelsea College of Art. Her first career was as a fashion stylist working on publications such as The Face and Italian Vogue, before moving to New York to be a designer with her sisters’ womenswear company. Throughout this time, she continued to pursue her love of art with courses in screen printing, life drawing (at the Slade) and a ‘Power in Motion’ term with Glen Sujo at the Princes Drawing School.
In 2010 she returned full time to work as an artist, taking studio space to focus on her painting practice. She started using her camera to document her textural and tonal relationship with the contemporary landscape, often finding herself photographing dirt, rust, drips, decay and layers of peeling paint. In the studio she uses these images and textures as a reference point from which she can lose herself in the process of layering the paint, never quite knowing where it will take her.
Andrea has successfully participated in several local exhibitions and art fairs, and now has an established client base. She moved to Bath in 2014 and has just completed her Masters Degree at Bath Spa University where she was awarded a Distinction.
